Very disappointed with the service at Specsavers Kings heath. They wasted nearly 3–4 months of our time with repeated mistakes and incorrect prescriptions. We had to visit around 6–7 times just to collect glasses, return them, get changes made, and then go back again because the prescription still wasn’t right. It became a complete hassle and extremely frustrating. It honestly felt more focused on selling expensive varifocal lenses and unnecessary add-ons rather than properly checking the customer’s eyesight and providing the correct prescription. Every visit seemed to come with extra charges and upselling instead of genuine care. To make things worse, one of the staff members ABDUL was very rude to us today, which made the whole experience even more upsetting. After months of wasted time, poor service, and constant back-and-forth, we are extremely disappointed. Please be careful and double check everything before ordering from here, especially if you are being pushed towards expensive varifocals or extras.

Disgraceful customer service from Kings Heath Branch. When phoning for an appointment both myself and my husband have waited half an hour before hanging up. Once I was on hold longer, so still on hold I put on my coat and walked the 20mins to the shop. On arrival at the shop I was still on hold, being told I was 1st in the queue and that my call mattered. I handed my phone to the manager to listen to it, who then went upstairs to check. She came back and saying no one was there to pick up calls and apologised! All the time on hold the recording is wasting our time selling us their products. I never had this treatment in the city centre branch and regret changing to a local branch who treat us this way. We have our spectacles and contact lenses from them, but no more.

We were very pleased with the procedure at Kings Heath. It was always professional, helpful and comfortable. The eye test was efficiently carried out by Shifa and then Ash completed the diagnostics explaining what was happening. Amis patiently helped us choose the frames and then carried out the measuring with attention to detail. A few weeks later we met Amis again when we collected the glasses. The fitting was perfect so overall we had a very pleasant experience at Specsavers Kings Heath.

Following the acquisition of the franchise by a new proprietor, there has been a marked deterioration in the standard of customer service at this Specsavers optician. The staff have adopted a discourteous and unprofessional demeanour. An appointment had been made for the fitting of contact lenses. The woman staffing the reception desk displayed a marked lack of courtesy and exhibited blatant racist tendencies. Indeed, she even went so far as to remark that the wearing of coloured contact lenses was merely for aesthetic purposes, and not for any medical necessity. I was issued with an appointment for a medical examination, but was subsequently refused admittance to the facility. Her conduct was unbefitting of a professional environment. I have been a regular customer at this Specsavers branch for a considerable number of years. I do not feel as though I have to interact with such individuals.
